Hi, I’m Ananya. This page explains how Blunturi handles your information. I’ve tried to write it in plain English — not the kind that needs a lawyer to decode. If something’s unclear, write to me and I’ll fix it.
Here’s the short version: I don’t sell your data, I don’t track you across the internet, and I only collect what’s needed to keep this blog running smoothly. The longer version is below.
What information this site collects
Blunturi collects information in a few straightforward ways:
- Comments. When you leave a comment on a post, the site stores your name, email address, and whatever you type into the comment box. Your email isn’t shown publicly — only your name and comment appear on the page.
- Email subscriptions. If you sign up to receive new posts by email, your email address is stored by the newsletter service I use. You can unsubscribe anytime with one click.
- Contact form messages. If you reach out through the contact page, I receive your name, email, and message. I don’t add you to any mailing list without asking.
- Analytics. Like most websites, Blunturi uses a basic analytics tool to understand how many people visit, which posts they read, and roughly where they’re located. This data is aggregated and doesn’t identify you personally.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored in your browser that help websites remember things. Blunturi uses cookies sparingly:
- Comment cookies. If you leave a comment, your browser may save your name and email in a cookie so you don’t have to retype them next time. These last about a year.
- Analytics cookies. The analytics tool places a cookie to distinguish between new and returning visitors. It doesn’t track what you do on other websites.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings anytime. The site will still work fine — you’ll just need to re-enter your details when commenting.
Third-party services
Blunturi relies on a few external services to function. Each has its own privacy practices:
- Web hosting. The site is hosted on a server that logs standard technical data — IP addresses, browser types, timestamps. These logs rotate out regularly and aren’t used for anything beyond keeping the site secure.
- Email delivery. If you subscribe to post updates, your email is handled by a reputable newsletter platform. I chose one that doesn’t use your data for its own purposes.
- Embedded content. Occasionally I embed things like YouTube videos or Instagram posts. When you interact with embedded content, that platform may collect data as if you were visiting it directly. Their privacy policies apply in those cases.
Affiliate links
Some posts on Blunturi contain affiliate links to products I genuinely recommend — things like kitchen organizers, packing supplies, or home improvement tools I’ve used myself. If you click one and make a purchase, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. These links don’t collect your personal information; they simply let the retailer know you came from my site.
How your information is used
I use the information collected here for exactly these purposes and nothing else:
- To display and manage comments on blog posts
- To send new post notifications to email subscribers
- To respond when you contact me directly
- To understand which topics readers find useful so I can write more of those
I don’t sell, rent, or trade your information with anyone. I don’t use it for advertising. I don’t build profiles on readers. This blog is a labor of love, not a data operation.
How long information is kept
Comments and their associated data stay on the site indefinitely unless you ask me to remove them. Email subscription records remain until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained in aggregate form; individual session data expires after a set period determined by the analytics tool.
Your rights
Regardless of where you live, you can always:
- Ask me to delete any comments you’ve left
- Unsubscribe from emails at any time
- Request a copy of any personal data I hold about you
- Ask me to correct or remove your information
Just send an email to the address listed below. I’ll handle it promptly — usually within a few days.
Children’s privacy
Blunturi isn’t directed at children under 13, and I don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has shared personal data through this site, let me know and I’ll remove it immediately.
Changes to this policy
If anything about how Blunturi handles data changes, I’ll update this page and note the date at the top. For significant changes, I’ll mention it in a blog post too. This isn’t a document I plan to revise often — the approach here is simple and I intend to keep it that way.

I read every message myself. No support team, no autoresponder — just me, usually with a cup of chai, somewhere between Mumbai, Bengaluru, and wherever the next lease takes me.
